What Clients Are Saying...

My supervisory experience with Rhonda Burnell was paramount and foundational in my development as a Mental Health Counselor. What stands out to me the most about Rhonda as a Clinical Supervisor is her attention to detail and her dedication to always supervising and practicing ethically. I am grateful that I found her; she showed me the difference between an excellent supervisor and a supervisor just by title. I always felt supported and guided, and gained knowledge and insight I will always carry with me!

Do I really need counseling?

How do I know if I need counseling?

If you are experiencing distressing thoughts and feelings that are impacting your finances, social life, work or school then it may be time to consider talking to a therapist.  People who ask for help know when they need it.

Can I just talk to a friend or my family?

It’s okay to have a therapist as part of your support system, in fact, having a therapist is sometimes required for more complicated life issues. A mental health professional can help you approach your concerns in a different way. This could involve teaching you a new skill to cope with life or helping you gain perspective on things that could be negatively impacting you.

What should I expect in counseling?

Each person has different issues and goals for counseling. You can expect your provider to assess what your needs are using evidenced based methods.

How long will it take?

Unfortunately, this is not possible to say. Everyone’s circumstances are unique to them, and the length of time counseling can take to allow you to accomplish your goals depends on your desire for personal development, your commitment, and the factors that are driving you to seek counseling. Your active participation and dedication will be crucial to your success.
